In line with McDonald’s launching of it’s Mac Tonight 24 Hour Marketing campaign here in the Philippines, McDonald’s also announces the Mac Tonight Mad Dash.

The concept is like the show Amazing Race. On July 24, twenty-four teams of two people will race around 24, 24-hour stores in 24 hours with the chance to bring home P240,000 in cold cash. They will be provided with maps, pocket money and race cards as they race around luzon. Only public transportation will be used all throughout the race.

Registration will begin nationwide on July 7 until July 18, 2007. The 24 participants would race throughout the day and night of July 24 and the team who completes their 24 stops will win P240,000.

I really love the way McDonald is running their campaigns right now. They are providing that edge in which other rival fast foods cannot provide.

McDonald’s Vice President for Marketing Margot Torres shared, “No other quick service restaurant, besides McDonald’s offers such a relevant innovation of being available whenever you want it, wherever you want it.” She continued, “With the ever-changing Filipino lifestyle, everything is on-the-go! And McDonald’s will be there to provide hot, fresh meals fast. The McDonald’s brand is here to make our customers’ lives easy.”

Lots of luck to the 24 teams! So what do you think? Great event right?

Why Do You Need A Website?

According to comScore Networks, there are currently 694 million people that use the internet. Around 3.5 million of that are Internet users here in the Philippines. That is a huge market! If you have a business today, it is an edge over the competitors to have your own website. Here are some more reasons why:

Information

First of all, by having your own web presence, you provide information and ideas to your customers to make them aware of your company, products and services. You can also put up a Frequently Ask Questions page so that common questions can be answered quickly and will not result in redundant explanations.

Gather Feedback

You can also use your website to effectively gather feedback regarding your products and services. By doing so, you can learn to improve your products and services to increase your overall customer base. Gathering feedback will also make you aware of what your customers expect from your business.

Save Your Customers Money!

Let your customers know that you’re saving money on printing and telephone costs. These savings are then passed on to them by allowing your customers to learn about your products and services using your web page.

Make A Web Presence

By having a website, your customers know that your company is progressive and willing to embrace new technology. These days, a website is a necessity to effectively promote and advertise your company.

If your competition has a website, you’re already one step behind and not gaining the business you could be.

Communicate With Your Customers

Your website can supply your customers with a form that allows them to contact you at their convenience. Not all customers can communicate with you during regular business hours, so your website allows for them to 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. By using this contact form, they can request information, services, request a proposal, or set up an appointment.

Generate New Customers & Clients

By having a website, you’re allowing potential customers to find your business. These potential clients can search product catalogues or contact you about your services.

Create A Showcase

If a customer or potential customer is looking to purchase products or your services, they will more than likely read everything you have on your website. By offering pictures of your products or services, you’re giving them the most information you can, and they will appreciate it. Pictures of before and after work, also gives a sense of security to your customers, as if you’re not afraid to show off your work. Your photographs will show your customers that your business is established and willing to offer their best work to your potential customers.

Provide Directions

Web pages can allow for your customers to print a map, containing your contact information, address, and even a picture of your building. By having this simple page on your site, customers can find your location quickly. This also creates another sense of security for your customers, knowing that you DO have a place of business.

Effective Advertising

By having a website, your business is allowing your customers to find you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Simply have your web address on all of your printed materials, and let your clients contact you at any time of the day.

I really agree with this article. What do you think? Do you have more reasons why you need a website?

Keeping up with Site Updates

I’ve been pretty disorganized lately and it has been a busy week. I seemed pretty worn out when I get home. Must be from all the hours I’ve been putting into gym class. :) Or maybe, It’s just because I realized that updating websites isn’t a walk in the park. It really isn’t. You need to be physically fit and most importantly mentally fit for the job. Anyway, I’m now recovering from my busy workload and I can update my site once again.

Since I have been getting several new projects lately, I’m planning to update my old portfolio in pinoybizpark.com. I plan to put the new one here in mcbilly.com. Seems like a good idea, right?

Oh, and if you’re wondering what’s up with the macbook picture, I just like it. haha Nah, the screen is a metaphor of how busy the last couple of days has been for me. And anyway, I’m planning to get one so It’s a visualization tactic. :p
