Easily Find Drivers for Your Laptop or Computer with Everest

Just recently, I was sent a new HP Pavillion Laptop from the US. It comes with Windows Vista packaged into the system. Some of friends love the new Windows Vista but personally, I hate it. I just can’t find my way around the darn thing!
I decided to reformat it to Windows XP Professional so that I can install most of the softwares out there. But what about the drivers? HP provides a recovery disk with all the drivers but they are all for Windows Vista. That’s where Everest comes in.
Basically, Everest is an application that shows hardware information of your PC or laptop. It will show you the exact chipset name or product number of your hardware.

Here you can see a screenshot of the program showing my motherboard details. And you can also find the exact name of your hardware devices. Take for example my Wireless Adapter: Everest shows that I have an “Intel 3945ABG PRO/Wireless Network Adapter”. So what I will do is do a Google search on “Intel 3945ABG PRO driver” or “Intel 3945ABG PRO xp drivers”.
It’s that easy. Now, I have my HP laptop fully functional and running Windows XP.

The downside of this is that you have to search each drivers one by one. Well, at least you got your computer running, right? What do you think?
