Windows Vista is a Joke

Windows vista is a joke. But not a funny one. Since getting a taste of it, I switched back to windows xp in a snap.
Design is awesome

I have to admit, the interface looks good.
It has nice looking widgets installed in the desktop that has many uses from calendar to calculators. The windows explorer also has enhanced design since it has transparent borders. A lot of people say they copied the design from Mac, I won’t go into that for obvious reasons.
Speed sucks
In an era where speed matters, this is a big let down for me. I had to wait for 3 to 4 minutes just for my computer to boot. Not good.
Windows vista was pre installed in my Core 2 duo Laptop but I coudn’t feel the improvement in speed. In fact I think my Core 2 duo laptop running Vista runs slower than my Pentium 4 PC running Windows Xp.
Where the hell is that (feature)
The biggest downfall for me is that the rearrangement of buttons, features and what not in the Operating System. It might be a good thing to change for the better but, spending 1 to 2 minutes to find a feature everytime? No thanks!

One of the thing I noticed and that really pisses me off is the shutdown button. You would think that the programmers at Microsoft would have thought that maybe the users would want to click shutdown right away. Well, I do but to my surprise, when I click the button encircled red, it’s for Hibernation. Sorry! The shutdown button is hiding on that arrow on the right side.
What do you think? Do you like the new windows Vista? I’d prefer xp or mac any time.

the reason why It’s slow at first is because it prefetches the apps the you most use.. it study your Computer usage and caches it.. so the next time it’s load quicker.
And also Windows Vista has tons of tools waiting to be discovered..
just my two cents
Hi Jaren. Thanks for sharing your opinion on this matter. So that’s why it’s slow!
Anyway, I posted this article a few days before I saw the post on your site on how to make windows vista faster. Great post on that. I think I could give vista a second chance.
haha.. i read my own comment and I’m very sorry about the typos…

there lot’s of tip to make vista a bit faster…
such as subtracting the eye-candy for a certain addition to performance..
hehe… a sort of “law of supply and demand”
Hahaha. No problem Jaren. Sometimes I make typos too especially when I’m in a hurry.
True! Vista has a lot of eye-candy which, in my opinion, I do not need. Thanks for the tip bro.
Speak english retard, I think your a Vista salesman dumbshit
Aw, I love my Vista. Hehe. And actually, you can modify the settings of that button. I thought it was just for Hibernation too, but you can actually switch it to Sleep or Shut Down (you can do that somewhere in Control Panel, I forgot where :D). But I gotta agree, my laptop takes a while to boot too. Hmmm.
you can change the effect of the power button via your laptop’s power settings
the default setting on the power button is the Vista “instant off” which works a lot like “sleep”…
give your laptop some playing time ( what I mean is try using it for about a week) to let Vista configure and cache your frequently used programs.. for faster loading…
Come on.. guys… XP was crappy to when it was first launched…
Joni and Jaren. How are you guys? Sorry if I took time to reply. Been quite busy.
I didn’t know that power button had some configurations to change to our preferences.
Okay. You guys have persuaded me to give vista a second chance. Joni, Jaren and his vista optimization invaded blog.
hehhee… I was skeptical about Windows Vista too at first, but being an “eccentric, weird IT guy” (hahaha) I decided to be a critic and debunk all the rumors I’ve read about Windows Vista…that’s why I came to write articles about Windows Vista and optimizations, tweaks that can be done with it(although some of my tweaks are done on other blogs and I can’t repost it on my blog due to duplicate article issues)… yes I’ve had my fair share of Vista errors and F*ck ups (sorry about the language) usually because of my own doing. but there is something about tweaking Applications and OS’es that calms me…
I’ve got to hand it to you Jaren. You know your stuffs, or vista stuffs rather. Haha. About your duplicate content issue, you can just link up to your other vista optimization posts in your other blogs. See you around Jaren.
I was able to try Vista w/ and w/o the service pack and there’s a lot of difference mainly in performance as well as bugs. With SP1, Vista has reach enough to please casual users but not power users. Although the tweaks give a bit of current users a bit breathing space, there still isn’t a GOOD reason to switch to vista. Issues like older games, drivers etc still plague the OS.
If anyone is going for Vista for it’s looks, why not make XP into a Vista clone.
Holy shit, this is a HUGE JOKE. Im on a 2 ghz system preloaded with Vista, and it runs like shit, looks like shit, and I think it smells like shit to. My old G3 Imac that runs at 500 Mhz, starts up in 30 seconds, and doesn’t run like a FUCKING SNAIL. Vista is a scam to BOOST XP SALES. GET IT THROUGH YOUR FUCKING HEADS PEOPLE.
