Bacolod Tay Tung High School, a non-stock, non-profit and non-sectarian educational institution located in the heart of Bacolod City, is my dearest alma mater. One that is close to my heart.

Sometime in 1934, The Kuo-Min-Tang (Bacolod Chapter), the Negros Occidental Chamber of Commerce, and the Fil-Sino Organization, joined in establishing a Chinese school in Bacolod City.

Chinese parents and the chinese community leaders had long felt the need of an educational institution where the children of the Chinese community could learn not only the rudiments of the English studies, but also the arts and culture f the land of their ancestors.

Thus Bacolod Tay Tung High School was born. Tay Tung which means “equality for all”, whether rich or poor, regardless of race, creed, and religion is the name chosen for this prestigious institution.

If you plan to enroll your children to a chinese school in Bacolod City, I suggest enrolling them to Tay Tung. I studied there and graduated high school Batch 2005. That’s something I never regretted ever since.
