Meet Adam or Eve the turtle! I’m not really sure who is who but I found them really intriguing! And cute! Plus I grew up playing Ninja Turtles in the Family Computer which makes me a big fan of turtles!

We had a shoot in Maria Luisa for a Christmas segment when we met Adam and Eve. Upon visiting one of the houses and seeing them, we thought they were life-size replicas of turtle shells being displayed on the ground. We thought they were pretty awesome until they moved!

So we met Adam and Eve. They are pretty small if you noticed in the picture but that’s because they’re just a few months old. They were a gift from ABS-CBN’s Kuya Kim Atienza. When they do grow up, they grow really large up to 3-4 feet. Now that’s big!

For some reason, I found them really intriguing! And well, just plain entertaining. Haha.

They eat grass and plants according to the care takers.

Reminds me of Donatello from Ninja Turtles. hehe.

I don’t know. I just find them very interesting! Oh and according to the care takers, you won’t find out the gender until they grow up. So the names Adam and Eve are quite temporary until they find out their real genders.

Honestly, I had a lot of fun playing around with Adam and Eve that day. They were so cute! Do you find them intriguing? Hehe

Parkour is an art where participants run along a route attempting to negotiate obstacles in the most efficient way possible using skills such as jumping, climbing or more specific parkour moves.

My first encounter with this art is with the game Mirror’s Edge and I’ve been interested since then. Just yesterday, I’ve had the pleasure of meeting some of the Parkour Traceurs of Cebu for a shoot for MagTV Na.

Parkour as an Art

Parkour from an outsiders view is just like running, dodging obstacles and jumping from point to point. But for those who practice the art, it’s not only the physical aspect but equally with the mental aspect because you develop self-confidence, quick decision making and critical thinking which you can apply into your daily lives.

The moves were awesome and I enjoyed a lot looking at these guys move from point A to point B in a very “stylish” way. But most often, Parkour is practiced without spectators and is not considered to a performance. Although, it’s already gaining popularity especially here in the Philippines where it’s used in Movies or TV Commercials.

They Call Themselves Parkour Sugbo

Parkour Sugbo is the group of Traceurs here in Cebu. It was founded by Sol who is an avid Parkour tracuer and they conduct free parkour sessions almost every week.

In the second picture, it’s Sol, Dale, Vanz, Barbie, Me, Kyle, Red, Jay and Nico. You can get to know more about them in MagTV Na this Oct 18. I’m sure you guys will love it.

Dangerous and Risky Sport?

Well, yes and no. First of all, yes it is dangerous and risky but every sport does have their share of risks. And no because Parkour is NOT considered as a sport. It’s more of an art.

As for beginners who would want to learn Parkour, Sol, Jay and their group shares that the very first thing to learn is the breakfalling which is falling and rolling to the ground as to break your fall and lessen the impact of your fall. These are just some of the things they shared. You can see a lot more of their moves in our feature in MagTV this Oct 18, 2009.

There you have guys. I also did some Parkour moves of my own! Hahaha All thanks to Sol and his group. They taught me some very basic moves. Haha.

Largest Pizza in the World? Well, not exactly. But Mama Maria’s Pizza does in fact serve the biggest round commercial Pizza in the world at 52 inches. It’s humongous and monstrous. I doubt if anyone can finish eating the whole pizza alone. This authentic Italian Pizza restaurant started out in Bacolod City and was an immediate success.

Mama Maria’s was the original and biggest Pizza here in the Philippines, serving commercial pizzas at 30 inches. Also, they have new Pizza flavors for the thousand pizza patriots that love pizza. They are now serving Crocodile Meat and Fish Kinilaw Pizzas. Wow. I’d love to try that!

I’ve tried eating Mama Maria’s before at Bacolod, but there’s none here in Cebu. Which is why I’m excited for the grand launching of Mama Maria’s Pizza later today 5pm at Gorordo Avenue between Cardinal Rosales & Archbishop Reyes. They’re finally opening up a branch here in Cebu! Yey.

For those who know me well, they know that my favorite food is Pizza. So I’ll definitely be there to cover the launching and to try out that Crocodile meat and Fish Kinilaw Pizza. I’m already drooling looking at the pictures. Yum!

MV Doulos the Ship is now in Cebu! MV Doulos is the world’s oldest active ocean-faring passenger ship but is now currently used as a floating bookshop. Books are cheap and you will find a lot of treasures on that boat!

The ship travels all around the world and all crew members are not paid. They even have to pay for their own food and lodging just to volunteer. Wow! This is a great opportunity guys!

The ship is docked in Cebu’s Pier 2. Not totally sure what specific pier. The Ship is docked in Pier 2. (Thanks Keren) This is our chance, blog about this and scatter it all through out Cebu! There will be a lot of great books on that boat, most importantly, they’re very cheap.

Update:
MV Duolos will be in Cebu until February 10, 2009.

Impress Your Girl with these Unique Valentines Gift Ideas. What you need to realize is that your special someone receives gifts often. Most especially if shes a campus crush or a lot of guys are wooing her, then you need to set yourself apart. Here are some ideas to get her attention.

Do Your Homework

I can write down hundreds of unique valentine gift ideas but if you don’t know what’s her wants and don’ts then it still wouldn’t be as effective. Do your research first and find out what she wants.

Some ideas would be:

• What’s her favorite color?
• What’s her favorite kind of flower? (All the other guys gave her roses, set yourself apart)
• Does she enjoy quiet and romantic dinners or is she more of the out going movie or carnival person.
• Is she currently eyeing something like that special bag at Ayala or maybe tickets to a concert?

It shows you value them so much that you put extra effort and time to add your personal modification. Plus it’s a lot harder compared to just going into SM Department Store and buying the first teddy bear you see.

Now keeping in mind the top 3 tips above, we can now proceed to the exact unique valentine gift ideas for your loved ones.

• Reserve a Date to a “Insert Event Here” and tell her you’re kind of broke so you’ll have to settle for a simple date. The event may be a romantic dinner, concert or whatever depending on the “research” you’ve done.
• If you don’t write often, then maybe just do something different this time. Get her her favorite flowers with a personalized love letter. It may be a poem or your messages for her. Just make sure that you write from the heart.
• Personalized Teddy bears that have both your names cross stitched to the bear. It would be a bigger deal if you were the one who cross stitched your names into the toy. It can also be a pillow.
• Give her a Special Massage Card. You can just cut out a calling card sized card from a chip board and design a special card entitling the owner of free massage whenever she wants it. I think its sweet and she’ll actually find it useful when shes stressed out. Plus its free.
• Cook her a nice romantic dinner. Find out whats her favorite dishes and make it extra special. The fact that you cooked for her is already a big deal for most. Plus if you have the place all to yourself, you can go the extra mile and add candle lights and scented candles.

Final Thoughts

These are just examples but once you get the idea, you can eventually just think of your own. The more personalized it is, the better. I hope my sharing of unique valentines gift ideas helped.

Just a final thought, although surprising her with a big valentines gift is great but always remember that it’s the little things that count in relationships. Like never forgetting to say I love you and taking care of the person more than she’ll ever know.
