Pit Senyor Kapamilya! I’m very excited for the festivities this coming Sunday! It’s the 30th anniversary of the biggest and grandest festival here in the Philippines! And for the 22nd consecutive year, ABS-CBN Cebu will cover all the festivities live and air even to TFC channels all around the world. This will be of course my first time to host the festivities and I’m very excited!

Last year, Alex Badayos, Armando Lorico Jr and Edgar Tan won overall 1st place, 2nd place and 3rd place respectively in the Sinulog 2009 Photography Contest. I’m excited to see who will win this year! A lot of my friends especially in Cebu Bloggers Society will be joining the contest (Although a lot join just for the all-access photographer pass. Hehe) and will also be there to cover the festivites. But who knows? You guys might be in the right place at the right time and get the perfect shot! Good luck!

Cebu Pop Music Festival Featuring Miss Vina Morales

I was able to interview Miss Vina Morales and was there last night at Cebu Coliseum where Cebu Popular Music Festival celebrated their 30th year! Instead of the usual Cebu Popular contest, they had a special concert celebrating 30 years of Cebuano talents and featuring one of their biggest stars Miss Vina Morales.

Miss Vina Morales was actually discovered in Cebu Popular Music Festival. She was then still Sharon Magdayao, her real name. She won “Best Interpreter” singing the song “Paglaum” or “Kaming Mga Kabataan Karon”, both very famous Cebuano songs. A Viva Records Talent Manager was in the audience that night and after talks, she was brought to Manila and then a star was born.

I love Miss Vina’s genuineness and warmth. Walang “Kaartehan” talaga and still very humble. And of course, we all love her talent in singing, dancing and entertaining. She brought the house down in Cebu Coliseum when she sang a lot of favorites and Cebuano songs while also singing new and up-beat songs like Lady Gaga.

There’s also a lot of concerts to look forward to today! There’s going to be 3 major concerts of Kapamilya stars today, January 16, 2010:

1. ASAP’s Kanto Boys featuring Billy Crawford, John Lloyd Cruz, Vhong Navarro and Luis Manzano with Anne Curtis will be have a concert in CICC @ 8pm.

2. Ai-ai, Vice Ganda  and Nanay Dionisia will have a concert in Waterfront Hotel and Casino Lahug @ 8pm.

3. Pokwang and Sam Milby will surely make the coliseum explode. They will be in the Cebu Coliseum, Sanciangko St. (near E-Mall) also @ 8pm.

Wow! That’s 3 major concerts all at the same time! Lol. I’m definitely sure that you will enjoy them!

If you’re saving though, we’ll be in Ayala this late afternoon for a mall show with Banana Split featuring Angelica Panganiban and the Parekoy main cast: Jason Gainza, Zanjoe Marudo and John Prats.

Sinulog Festival Queen 2010 will also be held tonight 7:30pm at the Cebu City Sports Center (Abellana). Lots and lots of events to go to!

The coronation night for Miss Cebu 2010 was held last night at Waterfront Hotel and Casino and my oh my, last nights event was truly interesting. Aside from the gorgeous designer outfits, wonderful production numbers and beautiful ladies, the biggest surprise viewers got was the results.

Final Thoughts

I for one was surprised with the results. In all honesty my top 3 candidates would have been candidate no. 8 Blinky De Leon, candidate no. 11 Roj and candidate no. 10 Liza Zosa. Blinky did in fact win a lot of special awards including the Miss Belo Star White Skin and Belo Body. She also won Ms. Glamor Girl Cathay Pacific and Best in Evening Gown. 18 year old Miss Roj won Miss Friendship and Miss Photogenic. And my favorite final answer would come from candidate no. 10, Liza Zosa.

Miss Cebu 2010 Miss Reena Elena did admit in an interview that she did not expect to win as clearly, she was not a favorite. But I have to hand it to her, she did her best and she did good!

Congratulations to the organizers for another successful Miss Cebu. A big big hand to the wonderful hosts, Manila-based model Rovilson Fernandez, Miss Cebu 2008 Sian Maynard and Kapamilya Winner Ka’s Katrina Ros.

Thanks also to ABSCBN Cebu for the great live coverage at Studio 23. Everyone I know was happy to have watched it on tv with no problems.

With Christmas fast approaching and the incidents that transpired in the past several months, I find the latest ABSCBN’s Station ID very fitting. The lyrics itself is pure genius. This is a must watch!

It’s simply heart warming to see that amidst problems and difficulties, we can rise above them with the spirit of Bayanihan. But the part of the song that really hits me is that in our capitalistic generation, Christmas has been transformed into a commercial event and that we forget that the true center of Christmas is Christ, our Lord, our Savior, our Everything.

Thank you Lord for you are my everything.

Meet Adam or Eve the turtle! I’m not really sure who is who but I found them really intriguing! And cute! Plus I grew up playing Ninja Turtles in the Family Computer which makes me a big fan of turtles!

We had a shoot in Maria Luisa for a Christmas segment when we met Adam and Eve. Upon visiting one of the houses and seeing them, we thought they were life-size replicas of turtle shells being displayed on the ground. We thought they were pretty awesome until they moved!

So we met Adam and Eve. They are pretty small if you noticed in the picture but that’s because they’re just a few months old. They were a gift from ABS-CBN’s Kuya Kim Atienza. When they do grow up, they grow really large up to 3-4 feet. Now that’s big!

For some reason, I found them really intriguing! And well, just plain entertaining. Haha.

They eat grass and plants according to the care takers.

Reminds me of Donatello from Ninja Turtles. hehe.

I don’t know. I just find them very interesting! Oh and according to the care takers, you won’t find out the gender until they grow up. So the names Adam and Eve are quite temporary until they find out their real genders.

Honestly, I had a lot of fun playing around with Adam and Eve that day. They were so cute! Do you find them intriguing? Hehe

Gear and Glam Grand Prix, the sequel to last year’s fabulous and ultra successful cars and fashion show has once again wowed the whos-who of Cebu and the A-listers in SM Northwing.

The collection of recognized designers of Fashion Council Cebu paired with rare luxury cars of the Performance and Classic Car Enthusiast upped the luxury factor of the show to the highest level. Not only can you hear the engines of the car, you can even smell the luxurious combustion of the engines, ala Grand Prix.

This is kind of late but here are the winners for the Philippine Blog Awards! I won an award and a lot of Cebu Blogger’s Society members were bagging awards left and right. Haha. Anyway, the night was fabulous. Thanks for the all support guys!

It was a glamorous night as I got to meet friends from Manila whom I don’t see very often. I also got to meet a lot of the bloggers who I haven’t met personally. And of course, the best part were the awards! Haha. Cebu Bloggers Society were bagging awards left and right!

Cebu Blogger Society members Sinjin, Obnoxious Queer, Focal Glass, Beyond the Norms and myself won a Globe Digital Tribe award. The Chikka Readers Choice Award was bagged by fellow CBS Member Sinjin and the Best Visayan Blog was awarded to Clado of Dahong Laya. For the Philippine Blog Awards Main Award, our very own Cebu Blogger’s Society won the Visayas’ Bloggers’ Choice Award! Woohoo. Congratulations to all the winners!

Parkour is an art where participants run along a route attempting to negotiate obstacles in the most efficient way possible using skills such as jumping, climbing or more specific parkour moves.

My first encounter with this art is with the game Mirror’s Edge and I’ve been interested since then. Just yesterday, I’ve had the pleasure of meeting some of the Parkour Traceurs of Cebu for a shoot for MagTV Na.

Parkour as an Art

Parkour from an outsiders view is just like running, dodging obstacles and jumping from point to point. But for those who practice the art, it’s not only the physical aspect but equally with the mental aspect because you develop self-confidence, quick decision making and critical thinking which you can apply into your daily lives.

The moves were awesome and I enjoyed a lot looking at these guys move from point A to point B in a very “stylish” way. But most often, Parkour is practiced without spectators and is not considered to a performance. Although, it’s already gaining popularity especially here in the Philippines where it’s used in Movies or TV Commercials.

They Call Themselves Parkour Sugbo

Parkour Sugbo is the group of Traceurs here in Cebu. It was founded by Sol who is an avid Parkour tracuer and they conduct free parkour sessions almost every week.

In the second picture, it’s Sol, Dale, Vanz, Barbie, Me, Kyle, Red, Jay and Nico. You can get to know more about them in MagTV Na this Oct 18. I’m sure you guys will love it.

Dangerous and Risky Sport?

Well, yes and no. First of all, yes it is dangerous and risky but every sport does have their share of risks. And no because Parkour is NOT considered as a sport. It’s more of an art.

As for beginners who would want to learn Parkour, Sol, Jay and their group shares that the very first thing to learn is the breakfalling which is falling and rolling to the ground as to break your fall and lessen the impact of your fall. These are just some of the things they shared. You can see a lot more of their moves in our feature in MagTV this Oct 18, 2009.

Great and exciting news guys! Our Experience the C2 Life music video won in the recently held C2 Best About Life Music Video Contest! In short, we won! Yey! All thanks to your support! The music video was of course created and produced by Peter Mancao and Angelo Agojo.

The awarding was held in SM Mall of Asia hosted by Nikki Gil and fellow Myx Vj Monica. Several bands played and rocked the evening including Imago and Kyla. The top 10 entries were introduced during that night and the top 3 winning entries were unveiled.

The grand prize was P150,000 in cash and P20,000 worth of C2 drinks.

One of the most popular soap of today would definitely be Tayong Dalawa. They have an engaging story full of twists, great action scenes and backed up by a cast of A list actors and actresses. I personally watch this soap and I love it! Which is why I was happy to know that we would be interviewing them.

Coco Martin, Jake Cuenca, Gerald Anderson and Kim Chiu are now household names because of their primetime series Tayong Dalawa. It follows the story of 2 brothers who fell in love with the same woman namely Audrey played by Kim Chiu. The ending of the teleserye was up and coming during this interview and there will be a big twist in the ending, hopefully we guys will like it.

We had the interview at Castle Peak Hotel in Mabolo during the press con. The interview super enjoyable since all the cast were game, most especially Gerald Anderson where he even stood up to act a dare. Haha.

Don’t worry, you’ll be able to watch the interview in MagTV Na. =]

The lovely Kim Chiu was adorable as usual. A fellow Cebuana and even the classmate of my younger brother before she went inside the house of kuya in Pinoy Big Brother.

The interview will air this October 11, 2009 Sunday in MagTV Na at 10:45am. Check it out guys. I’m sure you’ll enjoy it! The clips include the mall show in SM City Cebu where the place was jam packed. I had a hard time going home because of all the people in SM during that day. Haha. Enjoy it guys!
