5 Basic Web Services for Your Business to Flourish

1. Centralized Online Documents with Google Docs
With Google Docs, you can collaborate work with your co-workers and teammates in real time. This will save you all the troubles of attaching documents to emails and then downloading them repetitively.
Google docs accepts popular document formats from Word, Excel and Powerpoint. Believe me, this can definitely help you with online projects going smoother and faster.
2. Video Conferencing
If you handle a lot of businesses, most of the time you’re on the go. And so if you can’t come to the meeting, why not make the meeting come to you! That’s taking advantage of video conferencing.
You and your co-workers can talk via video conference and it will be just like you are talking face to face. International Video Conferencing, Inc. has a wide solution for video conferencing.
3. SMS from PC to Phone
This can be very useful especially for freelance online marketers or netrepreneurs. With a lot of free PC to Phone SMS websites like Chikka and SMS, you can save a lot of money by promoting your business through text messages.
Just make sure to respect your customers and not spam them everyday with text promotions.
4. VoIP Phone Calls
VoIP or Voice Over Internet Protocol is the next best thing ever made next to the telephone itself. Instead of using the common telephone line to transmit data and communication, VoIP utilizes the internet making the calls a whole lot cheaper.
If you have a business that needs a lot of telephone talk time, then it would be to your advantage to get a VoIP service for your business.

5. Online Payment Processing
One of the advantages of having an online presence for your business is being open 24/7. And online payment processing takes it to the next level by making your business open to payments 24/7.
PayPal and MoneyBookers are two of the best online payment processors in the net today. If you’re looking into receiving payments online, they are your best bet.

Hi McBilly,
Just want to comment on your usage of the term “web services”. If you search “web services” in Google, you’d find out it refers to a certain technology that’s quite way more specific and technical than the “services” you have enumerated. I think the more appropriate term would be “web/online applications” as this may confuse people starting to work on “web service” development (like me) hehe.
Oh. Thanks for pointing that out Yoru. I didn’t mean to confuse you guys. Hehe. The exact term that fits perfectly on what I have mentioned is indeed Web Apps. Sorry for confusing the two.
thanks for the info mcbilly. this is the reason I regularly visit your site. I learn a lot.
You’re very much welcome buddy. I’m glad to have you as one of my daily readers. Hehe. Thanks a lot Monaco.
Interesting stuff.. I use AdSense myself, and is quite happy with the results. Keep it going.
hayyy.. good for you guys you’ve got adsense in your back pack .. but not me anymore..i was kicked months ago.. would it be possible to start a account??? parang mahirap hindi na ni la approve..whats the new rule ba on this one.. tamad akong magbasa sensya na..
McBilly,
Great list of some great tools. I personally use Google Docs for all of my blog posts and articles and Paypal for a lot of my online ecommerce transactions.
Some of the other useful tools I use online include Google Reader, Gmail, Google Talk, a whole bunch of Firefox extensions, and instant messaging clients like AIM and Skype.
I find Google docs really useful because I use a mac and I need my documents to be readable in different PCs.
I’m glad to hear that Reyn. I’m actually planning to get a Macbook. Hoping to get it for christmas, or at least an iPhone. Hehe. Google docs and other Google applications are really handy. And best of all, their free!
