Celebrating the Birthday of My Lola

A Happy Happy Birthday to my beloved Lola Purita Garcia! (That’s the tagalog word for grandmother) You are so beautiful inside and out!

Yes, it’s been such a wonderful blessing to have you in my life. Always caring for me when I was down and most of the time, sick. The sleepless nights that you had to get through just because I was in the hospital. And of course, the invaluable guidance you have given to me ever since I was a child.

The Party

We went to Su-Tu-Kil in Mactan, Cebu to have this great dinner party with my beloved lola. Great filipino foods and delicious seafoods were instored for us. We ate chicken inasals, grilled fish and also grilled squids. Delicious bangus and clams too. I was so full that I had to unbutton my pants to breath.

The view in the restaurant, overlooking the sea, was great and the food was fantastic. It was really a wonderful day for our family.

The Sacrifices

I am really so much blessed to have you in my life lola. There are times that we encounter disagreements and conflicts, but through it all, we have learned so much too. Deep in my heart I am thankful for all the sacrifices you made for me, and for us.

I remember when you had a problem with your eyes. We had to find the best ophthalmologists and LASIK eye surgery to help you with it. The instances that we had to drive late at night to the hospitals. All of those are the sacrifices you made for us.

Thank you so much Lola. You are the best and we will always love you!
