Google also Gives Away PageRank
Wow. This has been my third consecutive post regarding Google’s PageRank Update. If this keeps up, I might have to change my blog niche all together.
Anyway, it seems Google has not only been dropping PageRanks, but also adding PageRanks? When I woke up this morning and checked my blog, I saw a PR 3 on my Google toolbar.
I thought it was the cache from another website I was visiting. But when I browsed my site, there really was a PR in the toolbar. I even had to check it with PRChecker just to be sure. And well, I found out that I really had a valid PageRank 3.
This might be good news for all the websites and blogs out there waiting for the awaited PR update. This can really help you with monetization if you are selling links or advertising. But take note, PageRank isn’t everything. In fact, it’s not really a big factor.
So if you still see a white bar on your Google Toolbar, don’t worry. Like I said before, Forget about PageRank and get back to the basics of making money online, which is to create great contents, gain readership and build your traffic.

wow congratulations McBilly. Guess what too? Mine too just got Pageranked from PR0 to PR3 the fact that my site just started last August 2007. I was so happy and ecstatic to know the news. I guess Big G is not that evil or Bad at all.

What’s this about PageRank thing? I don’t get it. Does it really matters to be on top of the world?. Being on number one podium would be useless if we don’t friends around us (traffic). Am I going off topic here?.
You’re absolutely right Den. Having a high PageRank would be useless IF you don’t have traffic, since traffic brings in the readers which will more likely increase your earnings.
But having a high PageRank does have it’s advantages. People would more likely buy your site’s link for a higher price if you have a high PR. Plus, it kind of has a nice feeling seeing a green bar on your site’s toolbar.

my blog the QuickStop jumped from PR1 to PR3
and also my other blog Paradise Philippines jumped from PR0 to PR4
but for my other blogs some got demoted as PR’s went down. some didn’t even change at all
