Slashed Feedburner Counter - No Need to Panic
Another Google punishment? I don’t think so.
After receiving a message indicating a major drop of subscribers in the Feedburner Chicklet, I checked my own Feedburner count.
Just like everyone else’s, my feedburner subscribers also experienced a major drop. But it’s not a punishment from the big G, it’s just a glitch in the Feedburner system.
A lot of the big bloggers also experienced the drop but Problogger explains there is no need to worry as this is more likely a glitch. He mentions that the ‘Google Feedfetcher’ stats that are not showing up justifying the uniform 40-50% drop.
It has already happened before and was rectified the next day. Well, I sure hope so.

yep, I noticed that too.. But I did not worry.. I knew it was some kind of glitch on Feedburner’s side…
Imagine my 9 subscribers dropping to 4?! Nightmare!
Mine too from 10 down to 6. hehehe.

I also checked my feedburner stats for today compared to yesterday, and the Google Fetcher was also the stats that was gone. Which means this is definitely a glitch. Hehe.
I have just checked my feedburner stats, strange but my Google Fetcher stat does appear and with only 1 subscriber. wow what a shame. hehehe.
Did you compare it with yesterday’s stat count?
My mistake. Feedfetcher-Google; (+http://www.google.com/feedfetcher.html)is the one in my FB stats.
I thought they’re the same.
Google Feedfetcher is different from Feedfetcher-Google.

I actually thought there was a “Feed Subscribers Union” strike going on hehe. That was one scary glitch.
Haha. I know what you mean by scary! My heart fell when I saw my subscribers dropped. I thought they unsubscribed because of my lousy posts. Haha
