How to Reduce Image Size for Faster Attachment to Email

How to Reduce Image Size for Faster Attachment to Email

How to reduce image size for email attachment? Normally, if you use a picture straight from your camera, the images are really big. If you plan to upload or attach it to your email, you will have a hard time so you definitely need to reduce the image size of the pictures first. Here’s a detailed step by step instruction on how to reduce the picture size. Enjoy. :D

Step 1:

First you need to check the size of the picture or pictures you want to upload. As you can see in the first screenshot, the size of our sample-picture is 2.2mb. That is really big and could take you a lot of time to upload especially if you’re using Wi-Fi, wireless internet or on a slow connection.

Step 2:

Go to this website and scroll down below the page to look for this form. Click BROWSE and look for the specific image you want to reduce the file size.

Step 3:

After that, proceed to “I do not care about the size. Just make the image:” and select 75% or 50% depending on how small you want the image to be.

Step 4:

Now hit “okay”. It will load and depending on the size of the image and your internet connection speed, this could take 1 minute to 2 minutes. Just be patient and wait for it to load.

Step 5:

After the image has been resized, you will be taken to a image has been successfully resized page.

Step 6:

Look for the line “you can click here to download your image!” and RIGHT CLICK on the HERE word to save your image. Depending on what browser you are using, select the option “Save Link As” or “Save Image As”.

Step 7:

Once clicked, a pop up browser will open and you need to make sure that the file type is “All Files”.

Step 8:

Then change the Name of the file to whatever name you want and ADD the .jpg after the filename. It should read “name-of-picture.jpg”

After that, it will save the picture and you can see that the image size has been greatly reduced. Congratulations! :D

You can now upload or attach the image to your email faster. Thanks and I hope you enjoyed this simple tutorial.

      Billy,

This tutorial of yours seems to me to be too complicated for your old Angkong. I will have it copied in my document and request assistance from people who have studied the science and art of using computers.

I will inform you later as to the result that I will be able to obtain, with help from people who have studied your SCIENCE OF COMPUTERS.

    2. I hope you remembered to save the new modified image as a new name, so you did not write over your original file. It is very important to protect all your original files … most of us burn a CD of them when we have enough.

    9. Did you use any application in this process. What if the file is already save in your PC?

    10. McBilly says:

We did get the image from our PC. We used their online application then uploaded a file from our computer to be reduced. After the process, you just need to save the “newly reduced” file.

If you guys need a batch image reducer, try Fotosizer. It’s what I personally use.

    13. what a tips…thank you.

    14. Very nice tip from you. I always used more sophisticated (and expensive) programs like photoshops to reduce the size and weight of every image. That was time-consuming and the results were sometimes not as good as I wanted. My opinion always was that the easiest way to do something is the best. Thanks for the post.

    15. Thank you for this

      Hi,

There is another way by which you can reduce the size of an picture but at a slight cost picture resolution..
All you need to do is open the original picture in MS-PAINT application and then re-save it (SAVE AS)as JPEG format with another name , that is it ….You can check the file size of the original picture and the re-saved picture .
