Get More Results for Less

I’m going to tell you a secret about myself, I can’t stand it when I am not doing anything.

I’ve always had this mentality that I have to be doing something, or else I am wasting my time. So whenever I see myself having nothing to do, my mind searches for new things to do and to accomplish. This is a good thing! :)

But it could also be dangerous. If you are so engrossed with doing a lot of things, you might be losing focus on the things you should be doing!

Oops! This is too much. Time Out!

Responsibilities. Studies. Project. Grocery. Request. Promises. Work. Work. Work. Oops! That’s too much! Back down a little and pull yourself together again.

Whenever I feel I am doing so many things all at once, I stop. You should too. Take a moment to organize on what to focus on and start from there.

Priorities Come First

Yes. It’s already tested and proven. First things comes first. But before you do this, you have to be clear on your priorities and objective. Set short and long term goals so that you can choose your priorities wisely.

You’re Not Superman You Know

Aside from doing first things first, drop the things that take up too much of your time while not really doing you any good.

Take for example watching television. I do watch tv but only when I watch with my brothers and sister. Most of my free time, I read books that could not only empower me but also inspire myself to achieve more.

You should too. Unless of course, you ARE superman. Are you?

Hey McBilly,

I agree. The way that I describe what you are talking about in my work is that there is a balance that you need to create between Reflection and Action. Most people can see the value in this but many don’t necessarily realize the most important point that high performing individuals know… you must be able to understand when to switch from Reflection mode to Action mode or vice-versa.

Oh and another point on Reflection and Action… they are both active states. Even though Reflection sounds like it is less “active” than Action, you still need to be putting in as much effort.

Cheers,
Paul Frazer

Great explanation Paul. I totally agree with creating balance over Reflection and Action. Sometimes, there is too much action that we tend to lose focus and misalign our objectives.

I have browsed your website and your book, Stop, Drop & Re-Balance: A Self Renewal Manual, is really right on track on what I was trying to say here. :)

People need to stop and realign their priorities once in a while. Just to be sure, you are working and going in the right direction.

Anyway, thanks a lot for dropping by Paul. By the way, how did you get to my site anyway? Just curious.

I’ll definitely keep in touch.
